  20 YEARS OF SERRALVE'S (22TH OF JUNE 2008)

TO CELBRATE THIS DATE, THE TREES OF THE PARK “WILL BE DRESSED” FESTIVELY, WITH KATTY XIOMARA’S “GARMENTS” CREATIONS. A SET OF GARMENTS WERE CONCEIVED FOR THIS OCCASION, WHICH WAS PLACED BY A UNIQUE TEAN OF GARDENERS OF THE SERRALVES’S FOUNDATION ON SOME EMBLEMATIC TREES OF THE PARK (OAKS, EUCALIPTS AND PINES). THESE DRESSES, AFTER PLACED IN THE TREES, THEY CREATE A FESTIVE PASSAGE FOR THE VISITORS. OF THESE GARMENTS A SKIRT WITH 6 METERS OF HEIGHT AND 15 METERS OF PERIMETER, DRESSED A PINETREE WITH MORE THAN 20 METERS OF HEIGHT; THE DIMENSIONS OF THIS PROJECTO TOOK BY EXAMPLE, 600 METERS OF MESH, 400 METERS OF ELASTIC ROPE, 75 SECURITY SNAPS, AS WELL AS MORE THAN 100 SCREWS, ETC.

THE THEME OF THE NEW COLLECTION IS INSPIRE BY

“Metropolis”… is the future view from back a century, describes a terrifyingly futuristic city but delusion beautiful, deliciously declining and melancholic, in a chaotic universe, beautiful and perverse with glamour cinematographic touch in great Art Deco staged.

The film gives the name to the collection that ambitioned to review the futuristic vision of the 20’s in a contra-sense for the current demand of the revivalism, adapting futuristic concepts of our past to our present.

Sweeter interpretations of mechanical forms, subtle exaggerated volumes, and decadent but elegant details. Colors that reflect brightness and darkness, in a metallic context, worked in contrasts or harmonies. Grey tones of lead and silver, icings in rusted tonalities, and blue color tonalities of and aged roses.

The materials suggest volumes and delineate imperfections, in natural and technological compositions assuming the future seen in the past.

KATTY’S NEW STORE IN BOAVISTA STREET, IN PORTO, IS MUCH MORE THAN A COMMERCIAL SPACE; THE ATMOSPHERE AND ARCHITECTURAL FRAMING, BELONGS ALREADY TO THIS DECORATIVE  IMAGINARY, DRAWING OUT THE INTERIOR LIFE OF THE RENEWED HOUSE, BETWEEN CONTEMPORARIES  ELEMENTS - AN EXTENSIVE “INHABITABLE” CLOSET - AND DETAILS OF DETAIL - VELVET CURTAINS, SILK CLOTH PROVERS IN, LONG FRAMED MIRRORS - REMEMBERING TO US THAT THE FASHION, AS THE LIFE, ALWAYS EVOKES THE MAGICAL SECRET OF THE THEATER.

From the Nº795 BOAVISTA STREET WINDOW, IN the PORT, TWO SUSPENDED puppets, WAVES AND INVITES us TO ENTER in THE XIX BOURGEOIS HOUSE Restored were KATTY XIOMARA’s THE STORE HIDES, A SPACE INSPIRED BY THE THEATERS AND CLASSIC LIBRARIES, PLACES WHERE WE CAN FIND ourselves WITH History. From FABRICS, BALLOON SLEEVES, RIBBONS AND THE BOWS, THE designer CONSTRUCTS characters that LOVE, KISS, laugh and cries. EACH Collection GAINS Character AND BECOMES RELATED IN THE SCENE OF the STORE. A PLACE WITH ONE STRONG NARRATIVE sense, somewhere SUSPENDED as THE puppets lays THE CREATIVE TRUTH OF THE designer AND THE POETICAL FICTION OF ITS WORK.
